Amendoeira Golf Day Success

Amendoeira Golf Resort

Amendoeira Golf Resort

15 June 2014 Charity Golf Tournament Amendoeira Golf Resort:

The golf day at the fabulous Amendoeira Golf Resort took place on the hottest day of the year so far, however, that did not prevent golfers of all abilities turning in some very good scores on the difficult Faldo course.  Comments from golfers included “a great day for a good cause” as they tucked into a very nice lunch in the clubhouse after the game.  Although with fewer numbers than expected a very respectable €1800 was raised to be used to help the Oncology Association of the Algarve with their cancer prevention programme.  Grateful thanks to all who helped organise the event and those too who took part.

Looking forward to next year!

Coffee and Cake the Best Yet!

Julia and Pascal hosted a morning of coffee and cake in their home near Praia de Luz. Julia baked up storm and friends added to the spread with their own creations. The morning was in aid of Madrugada*.  Silves Rotary members and Guests enjoyed a glass of Buck’s Fizz, coffee and of course slices of delicious cakes and pastries, whilst raising money for this deserving project. Events like these are held to introduce the work of Silves Rotary Club and to gather friends in support of local causes. The event raised over €500 for Madrugada and we made many new friends. Thank you to all who made this an enjoyable if fattening event.
