Officers of the Club (2026/2027)

President: Judy Falçao

The president’s role is to lead the club, ensuring it functions effectively, supporting its members through fellowship as they work to help their local community.  All presidents strive to leave a better club at the end of their term.

Whilst supporting ongoing projects in local schools and supporting some of the poorest in the community,  Judy has added three areas of focus for the year ahead, which are aligned to Rotary Areas of Service and connected to goals set out in the Local Community Plans:

  1. Environment: Projects to embrace Pollinator Habitat Networks, Bird Nesting, Stream bank Restoration achieving  local community engagement, education and environmental awareness.
  2. Health and Wellbeing: A project to support some of our poorest families and gain quicker access to therapies for their children with learning and developmental needs.
  3. Youth Led Art Peace Project Peace education empowers individuals to create meaningful change at Individual, Community and Global Level. This project aims to help young people who feel powerless and anxious navigate this unstable world.

Incoming President: Terry Falçao

As incoming President Terry will support Judy  the President in their duties and help in the delivery of their programmes to serve the local community.

Treasurer: Philippe Pfister

The Club Treasurer’s role is to ensure competent oversight of club funds, transactions, and reports.  The club treasurer manages the club’s financial transactions, maintains club financial records, and helps plan the club’s budget.

Master of Ceremonies (MOC): Terry Falçao MOC.rotarysilves@gmail.com

 

Our MOC issues meeting invitations to members and other Rotarians and friends. The MOC meets and greets fellow Rotarians and guests and records attendance at meetings providing attendance reports where necessary.

Secretary: Shalini Mathur

Our Secretary has the administrative responsibility, working with officers to support the day-to-day club operations by recording and writing minutes, sending out notices of meetings, and recording and maintaining the minutes of club and board meetings.

Past President Pam Winn and Press Officer

The Past President’s role is to serve on the board and to support the new President in the delivery of their goals. As Press Officer she will ensure that the profile of the club and its activities are maintained through the effective use of local and international media.

Meetings

Silves Rotary Club members meet at the Agua Riverside Hotel every second and last Thursday of the month at 11:30. The club does not meet during August. Most meetings are followed by a buffet lunch also at the hotel.

We conduct our meetings in English and our dress code is smart casual.
