An evening of vibrant music in the beautiful Teatro Mascarenhas Gregório in Silves. Doors open at 16:00 before settling down to listen to a lively programme of music, a mixture of classical and jazz from Bach through Mahler to Jim Parker and Irving Berlin to Brubeck, at 16:30 from the Eigelstein Brass Quintet. Drinks will be served at the interval.
Eigelstein Brass is a young, vibrant brass quintet based in Cologne, Germany. The members, who hail from Japan, Australia, Scotland and Germany met in 2014 whilst studying at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln. With their diverse range of musical tastes and a mutual enjoyment of high quality chamber music, the ensemble aim to bring the brass quintet to the forefront of the German chamber music scene.
Their programmes contain traditional and modern pieces as well as original compositions written and arranged for the group. Having made their debut performance at the 2014 Brass Symposium in Aachen to an enthusiastic reception from the audience,they continue on their quest of bringing high quality chamber music to audiences in and outside of the standard concert hall setting with this wonderful concert.
