Lunch was followed by archery. Robin Hood eat your heart out…..

On the 30 June we celebrated our Presidential Handover at The Holiday Inn, Armação de Pêra on the . It was a very happy occasion as rotarians and friends gathered as Outgoing President Bart van Linden passed on the Rotary chain of office to David Trubshaw, the new President of RC Silves. David is a well-known local artist and presented Bart with a copy of his book “Haiku for you”. The book contains Haikus and paintings by David. Proceeds from the sale of the book have been donated to Castelo dos Sonhos, a charity which RC Silves is proud to support.
District Governor Abílío Lopes presented David with a tie and David gave him a gift of his Haiku books to sell with monies donated to the DG’s chosen charities. David first task in his new role was to present Honorary Members with their certificates.
David outlined his objectives for the year and rounded of the afternoon by winning Heads and Tails..
We are all looking forward to Fellowship, Fun and Fundraising this year.
